Young justice next chapter preview

She was running through the woods . Breath in Breath out don't trip keep going.  Is what she repeated through her head. She turned and ran down to her right letting out a loud sob, which she instantly regretted.  The sound of footsteps grew closer to her and she screamed running to her left.

"God please oh please." She said to herself and jumped over a fallen tree. The footsteps stopped for a few seconds until barking was heard her eyes widened and she sped up as her body protested. She grabbed onto a tree with her right hand and pulled so she turned to her right sharply and ran deeper into the woods as the barking grew louder. She cried and her face turned to determination in an instant.

"Kill to survive." She said softly to herself as she pulled an arrow from her back and stringed it into her bow as she set her right knee down and she slid on the ground until she was facing the direction she was running from and let go. The sharp wiz of the arrow being released was followed by a thick noise as it was lodged into something and the painful cry of a dying dog. Instantly she withdrew another arrow and repeated the loading process as another giant black furry 'dog' ran towards her. She let go and the arrow was lodged in between the beast's eyes. Blood poured from the carcasses as she stood up and spit at them.

"I'm not dying that easily." She growled at them and then turned to run off when she saw a black figure and it laughed at her.

"Well well well Artemis, my how you have grown." Said the dark voice and Artemis gave the figure a look of scorn.

"You." She growled as the figure walked into the limited sunlight his eye dancing and sure enough there was an evil grin under his hockey mask.

"Looks like it's you and me girly." He said and laughed and looked at his daughter.

"Your friends trust you with the task of winning huh?" he questioned and Artemis didn't meet his eyes.

"They do, my friends trust me." She said and straightened her posture and faced him.

"Even after they learned of you being my daughter….your so naïve and  you actually believe them do you really think they trust you anymore they all hate you if they didn't have to count on you as a team member to help them escape this tournament then you would be ditched instantly especially by that flash boy." He sneered.

"His name's Kid Flash." She growled at him her grip on the bow tightening.

"Oooo hit a rough patch didn't I daughter, you have feelings for this boy and you know that it's true he would dump you in a second if his life didn't depend on it." He laughed and Artemis remained silent.

"Well you don't have to worry about that anymore, you see, I'm going to kill you and then your friends." He said and took out some knifes.

"Anything to say to the camera's sweetheart?" he asked. The people around the world watching this were on edge, people already crying know that the little hero they knew was going to die.

"I won't kill my father." She said and looked up at him and Sportsmaster laughed.

"I thought it was going to be some touching last words on how you really liked them as friends and truly loved that Flash boy….oh well say la vie."  He said and charged the girl……..
